Mass Intentions

The practice of requesting a Mass to be offered for loved ones, living or deceased, is a wonderful part of our Catholic tradition. As a way to allow as many parishioners and friends as possible to schedule Masses, the following policies are put forth to help accompllish this goal.

The ensure consistent and fair opportunity for all desiring a Mass intention for a loved one, Our Lady of the Assumption Parish will accept no more than 12 (twelve) intentions per household/per year with no more than 2 (two) scheduled for a weekend Mass.

  • Requests will be honored on a first-come, first-serve basis in the order in which the request is received. We cannot guarantee that any Mass requests will be celebrated immediatley.
  • Mass intentions cannot be scheduled for the following days:

Sunday, 9:30 AM Mass (designated for all OLA Parishioners), Holy Thursday, Holy Saturday, Easter Vigil, Easter Sunday, Mother's Day, Father's Day, All Souls Day,Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
These Mass intentions will be for the general intentions of our priests and parishioners.

  • If the date and time of your Mass request is not available, the next closest/available date and time will be scheduled. There may be a reason that requires us to cancel a Mass intention already scheduled; if that is necessary, we will contact you and try to find another date.
  • Lengthy intentions cannot be published in the bulletin and will be edited for the sake of brevity. Since the purpose of publishing the intention in the bulletin is to notify the family and friends of the intentions, we suggest the omission of middle initials, titles, etc.
  • Please indicate if the person for whom the Mass is requested is living or deceased.
